Building relationships is one of the most gratifying skills I have developed over the years I’ve been in business.
I know that most people don’t see this skills as extraordinary, but I love to get to know people and what their personal stories are. I take great pride in remembering what people tell me, especially the things that are important to them.
Somehow, I remember the details and have been able to introduce people to each other who have similar interests or have a client base that is the same.
I still meet with people that I sold equipment to in the early 80’s. I take the time to contact them and keep up with what is going on in their lives. That might not seem like anything unusual, but it is rare for someone who doesn’t stand to gain from keeping up the frequency of communication.
When I think about all the things I do for my business I have to do, the one thing I enjoy the most is getting to know people. So take the tine to develop great relationships and you’ll be amazed at how far it will take you in developing your business.
